Most clinic software is built for clinics abroad. Before you move your clinic onto any system, check that it fits the way Indian clinics and pet parents actually work.
Invoices should handle GST, including CGST and SGST together, and record UPI, card, cash and bank-transfer payments. If you have to fix invoices in a separate tool, the software isn't saving you time.
Appointment confirmations, vaccination reminders and payment links get read on WhatsApp. Ask whether reminders go out automatically through the WhatsApp Business Platform, and who pays the per-message charges.
Doctors check schedules between consultations and on the way to home visits. If the software only works well on a desktop, it won't get used.
Doctors, receptionists and other staff should each have their own login, and you should decide who can see billing, change records or export data.
Check that you can add a second branch with its own opening hours, and switch on modules like lab reports or inventory later instead of paying for everything on day one.
You should be able to export your pets, pet parents and appointments. And a trial should be long enough to run real appointments through it, not just click around a demo.
